The Themes on the Commonside is an ongoing project of historical fiction created by Daniel Agwaru.

Influenced by the ideas of belonging that preserved common land all across the United Kingdom, and the Fantasy of Manners, Agwaru began work in earnest during a difficult stage of his Stem Cell transplant in the summer of 2023.

Crediting it as playing a pivotal role in his recovery, the Themes on the Commonside explore a fantastical world in which Britain, in the throes of empire, is transformed into a nation state through the events of the 1956 Suez Canal Crises, but is littered with eccentric characters who will change the course of history.
